HWA Delivers HWA EVO Production Vehicles

Affalterbach/Dietzhölztal, 17 July 2026 – Just over two years after the presentation of the project on November 16, 2023, HWA AG delivered HWA EVO chassis #001 to its customer. The vehicle was officially handed over to Prof. Dr. Friedhelm Loh during a ceremonial event at the Nationales Automuseum The Loh Collection. In addition to Prof. Dr. Friedhelm Loh, the handover ceremony was attended by Simon-Markus Loh, Hans Werner Aufrecht and HWA CEO Martin Marx.

With the delivery of the HWA EVO, a new chapter begins for HWA AG and the HWA EVO. What started as an idea and an ambitious vision has evolved into a fully developed road vehicle that combines the DNA of the legendary Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 EVO II with state-of-the-art engineering expertise. The first customer vehicles are now leaving HWA’s production facility in Affalterbach.

HWA EVO #001 was built in the iconic 199 Blue-Black Metallic color combination as a tribute to its historic predecessor. The vehicle will be exhibited at the Nationales Automuseum The Loh Collection, where it joins the existing Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 EVO II vehicles #001 and #500, creating a bridge between automotive history and its modern interpretation.

In just over two years, we have turned an initial design study into a fully developed high-performance vehicle. Now the HWA EVO begins its true story – on the road and with our customers,” says Martin Marx, CEO of HWA AG.

At almost the same time, HWA EVO #002 was handed over to its new owner Willibald Dörflinger, principal shareholder of HWA AG. With this milestone, HWA has officially started customer deliveries of the HWA EVO.

As part of the event, HWA also presented prototype PT01, which completed extensive testing and validation programs during the development phase. The vehicle was used, among other applications, by Bosch Engineering GmbH and participated in demonstration runs during the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring 2025. Today, this prototype is also part of the collection of Simon-Markus Loh.

Also on display was the HWA EVO.R in the livery of HWA partners SONAX and Kärcher. The race car competed in the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring 2026 and represents the motorsport version of the HWA EVO. In the future, the HWA EVO.R will also be available as a customer race vehicle.

To mark the vehicle handover, the Nationales Automuseum is also exhibiting Klaus Ludwig’s 1992 DTM championship-winning car. Together with the historic race car, the EVO II models, the HWA EVO, the HWA EVO PT01 prototype and the HWA EVO.R race car, this creates a unique ensemble connecting the past, present and future of HWA’s engineering expertise.

To celebrate the third anniversary of the Nationales Automuseum The Loh Collection, these six vehicles will be on display from Wednesday, July 22, 2026, as part of a special exhibition in the museum’s marketplace area.
