HWA RACELAB to race in new, international FIA Formula 3 championship in 2019

Motorsport experts from Affalterbach to enter team in the new, international Formula 3 series, which shares the bill with Formula 1 and is aimed at gradually introducing talented drivers to the pinnacle of motor racing.

HWA AG is adding another aspect to its international motorsport presence: From 2019, the Affalterbach-based company will line up with its own Formula 3 team, named HWA RACELAB. The team plans to run three cars in the new Formula 3 International series. The global series will contest its races at Formula 1 race weekends. It forms an important level within the restructured "FIA Formula pyramid", which is aimed at gradually preparing talented racing drivers on their road to Formula 1 - starting with regional Formula 4 and Formula 3 championships, progressing through new, global F3 and F2 formats, and ultimately aiming for the pinnacle of motor racing - F1. It is yet to be confirmed who will drive the three HWA RACELAB Formula 3 cars.
