HWA RACELAB effort goes unrewarded in first farewell race

HWA RACELAB narrowly missed out on the points in a wild first race at the final event of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship in New York City. Gary Paffett was the victim of several questionable manoeuvres and eventually crossed the finishing line in eleventh place. Stoffel Vandoorne ended the action-packed E-Prix in 13th place. The team from Affalterbach still has one chance to finish its first season with a happy ending.

HWA RACELAB is pursuing an extreme goal: The motorsport experts from Affalterbach have set their sights on competing in Extreme E, the racing series for fully-electric SUVs that is to be launched in 2021. This project sees HWA AG once again demonstrate its pioneering spirit, as Extreme E is a radical new sport and entertainment concept. The races take place in such regions as the Arctic, the Himalayas, the Sahara and the Amazon rain forest. As well as the competitive aspect, the intention is to also raise awareness of the effects of climate change on these delicate ecosystems.

HWA RACELAB celebrates maiden FIA Formula 3 Championship race win

A historic moment for HWA RACELAB in Spielberg: during the third round of the FIA Formula 3 Championship, Jake Hughes (Great Britain) claimed victory in the second race of the weekend on Sunday and thus secured its team the maiden race win in the new series. The Brit was second across the finish line, but was promoted to the top spot in the final classification following a penalty for the erstwhile first-placed.

First points and maiden pole position in Formula 3 for HWA RACELAB

HWA RACELAB has scored its first points at the team's second event in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. Bent Viscaal (Netherlands) and Jake Hughes (Great Britain) both picked up points in the two races at Circuit Paul Ricard (France), finishing fifth and seventh respectively. Hughes also secured the first pole position for the team from Affalterbach in qualifying.
